16.10.2006 Victor Bologan: "We won due to team spirit"

After winning the European Chess Champioship with his team Tomsk-400, GM Victor Bologan accepted to share his impressions with www.bologan.md site visitors:

"We won for the second time this title due to team spirit and exceptional play of the each member. There was no match for our team, without winning two games, that is a very good result for this level. Of course, the leader, Morozevich, with his 5 wins on the first table contributed most to our common win. It was interesting to notice that before the last round, even if we were champions en-titre and were leading the standings, nobody considered seriously our chances to win."

Considering the match for the World Champion title, between Kramnik and Topalov, Victpr Bologan declared:

" Kramnik proved his superiority both in the rapid and classical chess. It will be ideal for the chess world if he will compete in the World Championship in Mexico 2007, among other 7 candidates. If it will happen, we would say for sure that the world chess unified. I'm happy for Kramnik, especially because his opponent used uncorrect methods during the match."
